Frequently Asked Questions
What is a compression packing cube?
A compression packing cube is a travel organizer that helps you save space in your luggage by compressing your clothes and other items. It has a two-way zipper that allows you to compress the cube and reduce its size by up to 60%.
What do compression packing cubes do?
Compression packing cubes are designed to help you organize your luggage and save space. These cubes typically feature a zippered opening that allows you to pack your belongings inside. Once filled, you can use the compression zipper to compress the contents of the cube, reducing the volume and making it easier to pack in your suitcase or backpack.
How do I use compression packing cubes?
Simply pack your clothes and other items into the cube and zip it closed. Then, use the two-way zipper to compress the cube and reduce its size.
What is the difference between compression and regular packing cubes?
Packing cubes are designed to help you organize your luggage by separating your belongings into different compartments. They can help keep your items tidy and easy to access. Compression packing cubes, on the other hand, also feature a compression zipper that can help reduce the volume of the cube. This makes it easier to fit more
items in your luggage without sacrificing organization or accessibility.
Do compression packing cubes really save space?
Yes! Compression packing cubes can save valuable space in your luggage by compressing the contents of the cube. By reducing the volume, you can fit more items in your suitcase or backpack, without having to sacrifice organization or accessibility. Plus, when you arrive at your destination, you can easily unpack and keep your belongings organized throughout your trip.
Is it better to roll or fold clothes in compression cubes?
The best method for packing clothes in compression packing cubes depends on personal preference and the type of clothing you're packing. Some people prefer to roll their clothes to save space, while others prefer to fold them to minimize wrinkles. With compression packing cubes, you can use either method and then compress the contents of the cube to save even more space.

The media could not be loaded. This review is written after 5 to 6 weeks of use and multiple trips. These compression suitcase packings have surprise me.I’ve packed them, in fact over pack them. Fought with them so they can close and they stayed closed. They can be thrown on the ground, jostled around in a suitcase and they will not break open.I have taken these on a total of six trips with multiple packing and unpacking, throwing into suitcases and they survived and they still look new.Of course, if they are over packed, it is a task to close the compression zipper. Ideally leave the cover zipper slightly open and then force in the sides with your fingers as you move the zipper along. This will close them securely and they will not break open and it does release a lot of the air in between the clothes.Only negative comment is that the cord attached to the zipper handle seems to strain under pressure. I have not had one break but I can see it may occur with frequent usage. Of course I will update in a month when I return back.I have tried multiple packing cubes both compression and non-compression and these are my favorite.
These are great for keeping things separated in my suitcase for ease of finding things when I get there. I do wish that the zipper opened more, but it also was a way to keep me from over-stuffing the bag.
Full name of product: Alameda Compression Packing Cubes, Luggage Packing Organizers for Travel Accessories with Shoe Bag & Toiletry BagFirst impressions: this set of bags is a nice coral color and seems well made of nylon fabric with sturdy zippers.Installation/setup: I usually roll all my clothes into outfits for the days I’ll be gone, I am usually pretty good at packing my bags neatly and space efficiently. I rolled my clothes and my little boy’s clothes and tried it out in my suitcase without the bags first (see pictures) and then put the rolled clothing into the compression bags and attempted to zip them closed. I think I probably overfilled the bags as most of them wouldn’t zip down with the compression zippers on the outside. (See pictures) One of the bags was packed more loosely and that bag zipped down with the compression zipper very nicely. I was still able to reduce the amount of room used by the clothing by about a quarter and I think that’s pretty great.Notes: I got these items to help me pack more tightly on tripsPrice point: when I got these items the price point was $20 for all the bags. I feel like for the quality and functionality of the bags that’s a pretty good price point.Final thoughts: these work pretty darn well for my needs, they helped me reduce my packing down by about a quarter and that’s good in my book.If there are any issues with the item in the future I will update my review.⭐️1 star -do not buy this product!⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - Not recommended, it’s not a good product⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - Product is okay and works well enough but I don’t think I would buy it again.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - pretty good product but it could be better.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - This is fantastic and you should buy it!
I am pretty new to the use of packing cubes. I decided to try using them on the advice of a friend. I have ordered a few different types, and I have decided that these are my favorite. I really like the fact that I can place my clothes in them when they are fully unzipped, and then the zipper wraps around a few times, and compresses the clothing into a smaller bundle. I don’t have to fold and squish to fit in the bag. One bag will easily hold a set of winter clothing, including jeans, a T-shirt, sweatshirt, socks, and underwear.
Well made good quality.Durable material. Love the color.Fits quite alot than expected.Very satisfied👍
They really help keep things organized. When I had to take only a personal item rolling bag it really helped pack things down. Really happy with the purchase.
These bags are wonderful for travel organization. Each comes with an extender zipper like the ones on suitcases, and can easily fit many days of travel essentials. I love the pastel pink color too!
I travel a lot, and usually tightly roll my clothes when packing. I was curious to see if these compression bags could reduce the amount of bag space I needed despite having already compressed my clothes through rolling.I was pleasantly surprised at how well these compression cubes worked. Four rolled shirts fit easily into one of the larger cubes, and I probably could have fit five. The zipping process was very smooth and simple. I measured before and after compressing, and found that the thickness had reduced from approximately 4-1/2" before using the compression zipper to about 3" after compressing. The only downside I noted is that the zipper that allows access to the inside of the compression cubes for packing doesn't open completely - instead, there's a portion at the end of each compression cube that is sewn shut and has to be accessed from above. On the larger cubes, this sewn area ranges from 4" on one side to 8" on the other. I can see how having to slide clothes into this portion of the cube might cause a small challenge for travelers who neatly fold rather than roll their clothes. However, I had no problem fitting my rolled clothes into the portion of the cubes that lacked zipper access.Highly recommended!
These are as described lightweight polyester that look water resistant with no mesh but sure how they will hold up and the picture colors are very muted not like the picture. Not sure if the price is worth compared to my gormex will see and update if any problems.
I tried two different kinds of packing cubes (as seen in photo) but definitely found these the best. They compress so well and saves me space. Loved how I was able to organize all my clothes and keep them that way even in the drawers in the hotel.
I prefer to travel with a carry on size bag, but usually find myself having to use the expansion zips on my suitcase. Sometimes that makes it hard for the suitcase to fit in the airplane luggage box. Since buying these compression bags I pack the same amount of clothes and don't have to use the expansion zip. It's a win for me!
Me encantaron estos packing cubes, son muy bonitos.
I fit several days worth of clothes into these cubes for a trip. It worked well and would recommend.
Im a digital nomad and have been living out of a backpack for the last 4 years. I've just upgraded my bag to the Cotopaxi Alpa 42l. This pack of 3 cubes (L/S/S) fits perfectly on one side of my bag. I don't see these holding up too long though, one seam is already starting to rip, but to be fair i stuffed a tone of s$%* in it to see its absolute limit because I know myself and I will shove as much as humanly possible in each bag so may as well test it out early. Heading to South America for a year so I'll update how long these last. Even if the compression part breaks theyd still make nice reg packing cubes. Overall i say its worth the money.
They work very well but you definitely cant over pack them or they wont zip all the way.L- 2 jean jackets, 2 jeans, 1 jean shortS- 4 swimsuits, 2 cover ups, 2 pairs of socks ( initially want to pack my underwear in there also but it wouldnt zip all they way)S- 5 tank tops, 2 leggings, 1 tshirt, 1 kimono, 1 jean short
